The words “sophisticated” and “cool” likely conjure up images of two very different fashion vibes—but this week’s best dressed stars proved that a great outfit can embody both adjectives. A-listers such as Rihanna, Hailey Bieber, and Anne Hathaway all slipped into quietly elegant looks that had a serious cool factor to them. Their ensembles were refined, but not in a way that read as precious or too stuffy.
Take Hailey, who stepped out for dinner in West Hollywood wearing a vintage Dolce & Gabbana acid-yellow camisole top. It’s a piece that could veer very Old Hollywood, yet she styled it with sleek black dress pants and kitten-heel mules—make it feel very new Hollywood. Ditto for Zoe Kravitz in New York City: She made the classic jeans-and-a-tee pairing feel fresh and hip, thanks to her sleek accessories from The Row (those flats) and Saint Laurent (that hobo bag!).
On the red carpets, the looks this week were equally timeless and edgy. Hannah Einbinder chose a leather Bottega Veneta dress that was cinched and ruched in all the right places. In London, Margaret Qualley had the internet talking with her perfect little black Chanel dress—and those divisive barefoot sandals from the resort 2027 collection. Pedicures required.
