Federal prosecutors say Daejon Love, 35, used dating apps, fake investment opportunities, and a phony NFL career to woo and con at least 26 women over the past 4 years. ‘He played a great game,’ said his last victim.
Daejon Labrayae Love liked to tell women that he played for the San Francisco 49ers, managed an investment and real estate portfolio worth millions, and wanted “to build wealth and a future together.”
None of that was true.
Love, 35, and a teenage accomplice who posed as his financial adviser have been charged with defrauding at least 26 women out of $1.3 million since 2022.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation said it believes there are “many more victims.”

The FBI arrested Love and Taylor Jamie Chan,
The FBI arrested Love and Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, last week at Boise Airport in Idaho, where they allegedly planned to meet new targets. Chan had been helping Love with the scam since he was 14 years old, authorities said.
The United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Oregon has charged both men with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud. Court documents say Love used dating apps to meet women in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California.
He allegedly told some women he was a 49ers wide receiver and shared Instagram screenshots of himself training, wearing a custom-made team helmet, and signing a “contract.”
