The start of the 2026 college football season is here, and that means ESPN’s “College GameDay” was back in full force to preview Week 1 of the season. With an exciting matchup featuring two of the most interesting programs in the country facing off, they made the easy choice to head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to watch the No. 13 LSU Tigers play the No. 23 Clemson Tigers.
It is the debut of Lane Kiffin as LSU’s head coach, and the Tigers are looking to hit the ground running after a controversial offseason. Dabo Swinney and Clemson need to put together a strong season after struggling a season ago, and pulling off the upset would be an ideal start.
The usual crew of Rece Davis, Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, and Pat McAfee were joined by guest picker Lainey Wilson to pick the top games of the weekend. She is from Baskin, Louisiana, and is a successful country music singer.
