Street Style Rewind: What the Fashion Set Wore to the Shows in 2017

Picture this: It’s 2017. Rodarte is showing on the runway; the short-form video platform du jour was Vine, and no one was more famous than Cameron Dallas, a catwalk and front-row habitué who hinted at the future of TikTok stars. Today, Kylie Jenner might be all about that quiet luxury trend, but ten years ago she was making a splash at NYFW in a beaded denim short set from Simkhai.
Of course, when we talk about 2017 catwalks, we can’t forget that today’s favorite sister duo, the Hadids, had just made a rare joint appearance at Fashion Week, walking out of Versace’s supermodel-stuffed spring 2017 show. Take us back to the glory days! As usual, there was just as much action off the runways as on. Milan attendees went hard on Alessandro Michele’s kooky and colorful Gucci while independent designers like Molly Goddard were also in heavy rotation.
London was all about Christopher Kane, which only stirs up our excitement for his upcoming show for Mulberry. And it was the first and last time our street style photographer, Phil Oh, took vertical photos for his street style galleries—although when asked about it today, he can’t remember why and promises that it won’t ever be happening again. Below, a flashback to the spring 2017 season in street style.
