A Wyoming football player appears to have pushed at least one fan during a field storming at Canvas Stadium after Colorado State won the Border War on Sept. 5.
Various social media accounts posted videos showing Wyoming defensive lineman Jayden Williams pushing at least one person as CSU fans rushed the field after the Rams won to secure the Bronze Boot trophy.
Several posts on social media with videos showed Williams pushing a fan. Wyoming coach Jay Sawvel responded to the incident in his weekly press conference on Sept. 7, saying it has “been addressed.”

“I’ve seen the Jayden video, been made aware of it. Made aware of it first, watched it. Watched it a couple different times. It’s been addressed and will be addressed further in house. Obviously, we don’t condone that from players to fans or anything from that standpoint. That will be something we address team wide, as well,” Sawvel said, according to a report from Kaycee Clark-Mellott from KGWN TV.
“That’s not the way we’re going to operate,” Sawvel said.
Sawvel also appeared to say the layout of the field can be partly to blame for incidents.
“We have a lot of fans that rush our field, too, so it’s not like we’re guiltless in anything college football. But one thing is our sideline and visiting locker room is on the same (side), there’s no crossing the field. We had to cross the field there. We have an option there that we don’t have to,” Sawvel said.

“They could put us on the other sideline and we could come right out of our tunnel and we’d be right back in our tunnel and never have to cross fans,” Sawvel said. “We’re not condoning it, but I do think in college football the more you have people on the field it is smart to take a look at the layout that you’re asking the visiting team to get back to their locker room.”
CSU won 35-13 to secure the Bronze Boot.
